Year 5 Careers Convention 2025

We are looking for exhibitors from a diverse range of jobs and industries to come along and have a stand at the 2025 Convention.  In recent years we have had every thing from plumbers to podiatrists, tailors to town planners, GIS graduates to Computer scientist, footballers and ballet dancers, robot surgery demonstrations and archaeological finds from the A14 build.  So when we say diverse we really do mean it. We are looking for all sorts for jobs, especially ones the pupils might never have heard of. 

 

Ideally the stands need to be “hands on” for the pupils, with visual props for the children to touch (for example; uniform to try on, appropriate tools of the trade), information to look at and possibly short activities for them to do.  They will also ask you LOTS of questions

 

The previous conventions have been a huge success with pupils gaining a valuable insight into the vast range of jobs available and the qualifications and they routes they will need to achieve their ambitions.  One boy after a previous convention commented to his teacher, "All the jobs I like, I need to be able to do at least some maths, I need to work harder in those lessons."  His main interest was in sport.
